why operating system was developed  because of complication in usage of punched cards because when an error was occupied   in punched card program only the control panel can solve that problem but the program only can run from the first then must give the information about input output and resource  at first GM NAA I/O OPERATING system was developed by the general motors in 1956  The main function of GM-NAA I/O was to automatically execute a new program once the one that was being executed had finished . It was formed of shared routines to the programs that provided common access to the  i nput/output devices development of dos The disk operating system(dos ) was developed in 1981 after that microsoft was released 8  major versions of MS DOS it is an command based operating system
